We got to go down to St. George for Easter and had a blast. We stayed one night with the Burts (who put on an Easter egg hunt just for Talmage, he made out like a bandit) and then we were at a condo with my whole family the rest of the weekend. We shoved in lots of fun despite the mediocre weather. We did everything from swimming, ping pong, Easter egg hunt, golf, movies, games, and lots of yummy food. Talmage said new words like, pool, jacket, Leeah, and binkie. It is fun to initially try and interpret what he said and then once I figure it out I realize how often he says it. Talmage was so cute to watch hunt for eggs. He wanted to open each one before moving to the next. We went swimming 3 times and I have a little fish! He loves the pool and plays hard. It makes me nervous that he is so confident but he loves it. We had so much fun playing with Brandon. It is fun for me when he wants his Dad instead of me. It is also a relief since it is awkward to carry him these days. I was pleasantly surprised to remember I was 30 weeks yesterday. I can totally do 10 more!
Recovering from a trip is always the worst part of going but we had a blast. I love both of my families and am grateful to have had extra time to spend with them. We also love being home in our own beds, there's nothing quite like it. I decided to transition Talmage to a twin bed when we got home. It has been set up for awhile and he likes to play on it and read books. Last night was our first attempt and he went right to sleep and slept through the night. Naptime also went smoothly. I feel relieved. This way he won't feel like the baby kicked him out of his bed.
Last but not least. I am grateful for Easter. It was rainy and cold all weekend and then Easter Sunday couldn't have been more beautiful. How fitting. The contrast made it even more magnificent and I imagine that is how we should feel when celebrating the Resurrection of Christ. The peace, beauty, and miracle after the storm. Grateful!
