She's finally here!

We are so excited to have Adeline here.  She is adorable and our hearts are overflowing with lots of love.  We have entered into a pink world and it's lots of fun.  Her birth and the days following have been wonderful.  For those of you who haven't heard, I "threw her up".  That sounds a little confusing so let me tell you the story.
I went to my Dr. appt. at 9:45am on Thursday.  My parents were scheduled to fly out of town Friday night and I liked the idea of having her before the weekend so Brandon had more time with us.  Anyway, my plan was to be induced at midnight Thursday night (if I didn't go into labor first, of course).  Why midnight?  Well, that's what my Dr. had us do with Talmage.  Anyway, I was a 3 at my appt. and the ultrasound showed an 8lb 3oz. baby.  When I brought up being induced the Dr. said it wouldn't work for him because he had a funeral on Friday and didn't want me to be having the baby on Friday.  So he gave me the option of going to the hospital immediately or waiting til' Friday night.  Well, waiting didn't make sense because my parents would miss it.  So I opted for immediately.  Despite being a bit nervous and having Brandon at work, I walked over to the hospital with my mom.  I called Brandon and told him that I had to get the Strep B antibiotic which would take a couple of hours and I would call him when I needed him.  Oh, I must note that I was starving and they wouldn't let me eat lunch.  That's all I thought about for the first 2 hours.
Here's the timetable of events.
12:00- Get IV strep meds and pitocin, dilated to a 3, feeling contractions every 3-4 mins. Eat a popsicle for lunch.
2:30- Dr. breaks my water, dilated to 3.5, contractions every 2-3 mins.
3:30- Brandon gets there, we start 1 of 5 movies. Contractions 1-2 mins.
4:30- Get a light epidural, still feel contractions but they don't take my breath away.
5:00- Get checked, at a 5.  Excited to be making progress.
5:30- Press the button for more epidural because the pain is EXTREMELY intense despite being mostly numb.
5:45- Nurse decides to check me because of the level of my pain.  Exclaims I am ready to deliver!!  That's right, I went from 5 to 10 in 45 mins.  That explains the pain.  Whirlwind of commotion getting the room ready, the Dr. shows up within 7 mins.  They tell me to push during the next contraction.  I push once, they see hair.  That one push makes me start to dry heave.  I throw up in a cup 4 times to the side and out she comes.  It was a piece of cake and I felt much better after throwing up.  No tearing or anything.
5:59- Adeline Burt is born.  She weighed 6 lbs 14 oz. and was 20 inches long.  She has a head full of dark hair and the longest fingers ever.  We are so blessed and grateful!

Oh she is so cute! Congratulations. I am in Utah right now and would love to come meet her, but I have come down with a bad cold. And there is nothing worse than a sick newborn. I would never do that to you. Believe me, I know. I'm so happy for you guys. Way to go Rin, you are a beautiful Mama.

Congratulations! She is so beautiful! That's funny that she was so much smaller than the ultrasound showed. And I'm glad you had your epidural before dilating from 5-10 in 45 minutes because that would be so intense!! I'm glad it went well.
