Bye Bye Binky

So Wednesday morning I decided it was time to get rid of Talmage's binky.  He only gets it when he is napping or sleeping so I haven't been too worried.  Wednesday morning he was a bit sensitive and kept asking for it and crying when he didn't get it.  I asked him if he wanted  to take all his binkies to the store and give them away for a train.  He thought that was a great idea and immediately said "bye bye" to the binkies.  We went to the store and picked out a train and he had no hesitation giving them to the store clerk in order to get the train.  We came home set up the train and he played and played.  Then came nap time... He asked for his binky (said "mee mee") and I reminded him he gave them to the store lady for his train.  He wasn't convinced so we went and looked at where I usually keep them and they were gone.  He was a little sad and kept asking for it.  I continued with our usual naptime routine and he wasn't going for it.  Luckily he had gotten up early that morning and was exhausted because after I tickled his face for a few minutes he was asleep.  As  I went to leave he had a little toy in his hand and he unconsciously put it in his mouth, thinking it was his binky.  He opened his eyes to see what it was.  I told him he was okay and to go to sleep.  He slept great.  We had a big afternoon after naps and after asking a few times that night he went to sleep great and slept through the night.  I hope it continues to go this well.  So far today (Thursday he's done great).  Way to go Talmage!
