Potty training that is. Talmage quit first, and I have decided today, after a really long week and half, that it is better for our relationship if I back off. I am worn out and done with the battles. My biggest problem is that he has been EXCELLENT at both #1 and #2 for 2 months and now he can't seem to remember?? Whatever, time to focus on something else. Any of yours ever have a lapse?

All 3 of mine have. They're great for a month or so, then regress. In a few weeks to a month, we tried again. Emery needed a couple more months after that, but the boys did great. The key is to completely drop the subject. It's tempting when you can tell they need to go to ask if they want to go on the potty, but you'll be much better off if you just wait. Good luck lady!
Bella did the same thing. She basically trained herself before Lucy was born, once Lucy was born everything fell apart. I didn't push it, and about a month and a half later she started up again. I agree about giving yourself a break. When Talmadge is ready to try again you will know. I am in Utah for a week before my little sister leaves on her mission. I would love to see you sometime next week if you are available. Will you email me your phone number, or send me a message on fb? Thanks
I can honestly say it took Addie a solid 8 months to be TOTALLY potty trained. It is so frustrating-I know. Good idea on giving yourselves a break...it's not life or death and he WILL be potty trained sooner or later. Forcing their little independant souls does not work! Good luck!
Yes, we regressed and it was SOOOOO frustrating. I did just back off for awhile and then when we started back up again it went really well. It was really interesting though, that usually after I backed off it wasn't too long until Gracie decided she wanted to be a big girl again.
Potty training has been the hardest thing I have ever done as a mother! Seriously! It is tough. Lauren had a really hard time and still regresses and has accidents and she is 5. I am not saying that it will happen to your kids too, but I know how frustrating it can be! I wish I have some great advice, but I am still trying to figure it out myself.
ps - you always have something nice to say. Even with a big fat belly, thanks for making me feel good about myself today :)
