Then: The weather continued to be nice and we got the curbing done around the flower beds and the sod delivered. Getting the sod was a bit stressful because the yard was leveled and ready to go but the sod was back ordered. We looked at our schedule for up coming weeks and Brandon didn't have a free day until roughly July. NOT GOOD! Well Thursday night someone canceled their order and we got sod. MIRACLE #1
The next stress was rallying the troops to help. We were told we would get a little bit Friday night and could start, and then the rest would be delivered Saturday morning. Well pretty much NO ONE in either family could help saturday. Friday morning the sod truck arrived with ALL of the sod for our order. 9100 square feet to be exact. 18 pallets.
MIRACLE #2
So we decided to start at 6:30pm Friday night, since that's when our families could help, and see how far we could get. Our landscaper told us to plan on doing it all day Saturday as well. My brother brought a couple buddies and some great neighbors came to help. We laid ALL 9100 sq. feet in 2.5 hours. MIRACLE #3.
Honestly, it was AMAZING how fast it went. We were so blessed. Brandon and I thought the two of us would be laying sod all day Saturday. Oh yeah, MIRACLE #4 Brandon was able to get Saturday off. Things couldn't have worked out better.
The garden.
And so: Here is the finished product. We couldn't be more pleased! I am so excited to have grass. Truly, I'm in in love!
If you ever want to complain about mowing your lawn, just remember I have to mow the park strip, and it goes as far as the eye can see, it seems.
There was still lots of work to do Saturday, as you can see Brandon tilling the rock hard garden.
Did I mention the SAND BOX... Now I'm REALLY IN LOVE! Seriously, it's my dream come true. I didn't see my two oldest all day Saturday. They are so content in the sand box and boy do they sleep well.
Who is going to mow this, you ask? ME... WITH A SMILE! It sure beats mud.
NOW IT CAN RAIN :)
(Not really because my parents home is on the verge of flooding).

Your garden looks soooo great !
We lately moved to our first house with big garden and lawn and the first thing my husband did was buying a (hope this expression is correct) fuel/gasoline (?)mower: I tried it and must agree with all the men in my family that it is supersupereasy. Okay: It takes some time, but it works supersmooth.
A sandbox almost always is one of the babysitters one can find :-)))

Oh: I meant to write that a sandbox almost always is one of the best babysitters one can find.
Looks great! So happy for you guys! :)
It looks beautiful. I love how excited you are to mow the lawn. Get a couple of horses and cows in the "pasture" like Talmage wanted and you won't have to mow.All you'll have to do is clean up poop :)
Wow, what a change! I love all of the pictures from beginning to end. I'm so happy for you guys, what a beautiful house. So... I'm going to be there from the 10th to the 3rd of July. Plenty of time for us to get together. Any of those days work for you? I have a family commitment the first weekend, and then my race is the 17-18th, but otherwise pretty open. Let me know if you want to do lunch or something. :)
Awesome! It looks amazing. Have fun playing in your yard!
