That happened to my sister-in-law. I bet it is because your pictures are such high res. I would start a new blog, export your old posts to that, and then continue at your current address. Or...you could buy more space:)How much does it cost anyway?
I like the idea of exporting to a different blog. I think like $30. I also looked into printing my blog and AS IS it is too huge.
