Well, it's nap time in the Burt household. It's the few hours of the day when I am actually productive. I am hoping to get Talmage on a good nap schedule and then get him sleeping through the night. Any tips?? He actually does really well and only gets up once to eat. He also goes to bed for the night around 8:30. I can't believe it's already November. Brandon is naturally counting down the days until his birthday. :) Actually I'm not so sure it fun to be turning 27 but then, sorry Brandon, I wouldn't know!
I've already got Christmas on the brain. I thought it would be healthy to do a group brainstorm. I want to hear what your favorite gifts have been. Both those you have given and or received. (Especially those you have given to your parents or in-laws and the men in your life.) Some of my favorite... hmmm... the hard back BIG copy of the Book of Mormon. A sign/picture that reads "all because two people fell in love" (which now hangs beneath the family pictures). I'll keep thinking but let me know if you have any unique/great ideas! Have a happy November! Marinda

Marinda! I'm so happy you have a blog! Talmage is soooo cute!
I read "Babywise" and "Secrets of the Baby Whisperer" and kind of combined the two. It worked for us. Nick started sleeping through the night at 10 weeks and has been a great sleeper every since. Good luck!
I read the book by Dr. Ferber...I can't think if the name of the book right now, but if you were to google dr. ferber and child sleep habits you'd find him. I did that with Joseph and it worked for us. That way I didn't have to hear him cry all night without going in to him and making sure he knew I still was there...just not there to help him fall asleep. It's a good read. Even if you don't follow it exactly, it explains some good stuff about sleep that I had never considered before. Good luck! :) Although 1 time waking at night is pretty darn good for such a little guy! :)
This year I went the sentimental way as far as gifts go and I've made a few books through mypublisher.com and shutterfly.com. I did one for my siblings and parents with pictures of us and them taken this year, and then one of all Briggs mission pictures.
And did I already send you an "invite" for my blog?
