Morgan Adventures

I have learned an important lesson...

I don't need to pay to go to the Zoo when my parents live in Morgan.  My Dad called me and asked if I wanted to bring Talmage up since he was getting two calves from a dairy farmer to raise.  (Side note: My Dad raises a couple of calves every couple of years and then divides the beef among us, I haven't paid for beef since I've been married, THANKS Dad).  Anyway, we showed up for the SHOW.  We went over to the farm to pick out the calves.  First off, Talmage thinks every animal is his personal pet and he was ready to get in the stall with the calf.  Not a good idea!  He did pet them and let a little one suck on his finger (as pictured).  It turned into quite the rodeo as Dad and Mathias wrestled, tackled, and lifted the calves.  I was overwhelmed by the smell (pregnancy nose) and didn't feel like much help.  I was relieved to catch Talmage just in time before he crossed a large "puddle" at the farm.  That would not have been good.  That stuff is slippery.  The boys (Talmage, Ezra, Dad, and Mathias) enjoyed the activity I am sure.  It was finished up by exploring the barn, digging in the dirt, and swinging.  So much more fun than the Zoo!

Looks familiar...but i can't be sure. It's been a while. Anyway i like the idea of a farm visit instead of a zoo visit. That will definitley be on the list of things to do once we are in Utah again.
I used to say you'd get used to the smell, but with being pregnant I'm pretty sure you won't- way to be a trooper!
